zvěřinec zvaný Zahrada Amonova byl zřízen královnou Hatšepsut
před chrámem Džeser-Džeseru v Deir el Bahrí v Thébách na počest úspěšné
výpravy do Země Puntské.
(zřejmě přivezení Thutmosem III. z lovecké výpravy do Mezopotámie),
nosorožci, žirafy, skot, exotičtí ptáci...
Hatšepsut prý udělala zahradu aby vyhověla přání otce Tutmose I. -
zřídit v Deir el Bahrí vlastní Zemi Puntskou (zemi bohů).
the menagerie called Garden of Amun-Ra was created by queen
Hatsheput in front of Djeser-Djeseru temple in Deir el Bahri in Thebes in
honor of the successful expedition to Punt Land. The
expedition brought many precious materials and objects, but also
animals, some of which were until then unknown in Egypt (monkeys,
leopards, giraffes, bovine, a huge amount of birds). The queen gave to
plant the imported trees on terraces and along the facades of just
completed temple. Some animals were kept inside the palace in special
quarters, other in gardens in runs in the shade of trees. Gradually
there were many species of animals, though certainly we don't know about
all. It was the local animals, animals from the bank of Upper Nile, north-eastern
Africa, but also exotic species - leopards, cheetahs, guernon monkeys,
yellow baboons, Indian elephants (perhaps bring by Thutmose III form
hunting expedition to Mesopotamia), rhinos, giraffes, cattle, exotic
birds...
Hatshepsut reportedly make the garden to comply with request of her
father Tuthmose I - to create own Punt Land (land of gods) in Deir el
Bahri. |
