Obvykle je
uváděno, že číslice 101 znamená 101. km dálnice (což je i nápis na oficiálním logotypu),
ve skutečnosti je ale oáza na 98,7 km.
Na starých oficiálních stránkách se uvádí, že
101 je podle bývalé elitní vojenské jednotky
(Unit 101), v níž majitel a zakladatel oázy působil, tuto skutečnost však vyvrací
hebrejská Wikipedie i jiné zdroje.

on the official logotype), however in fact, the oasis is on 98.7 km. On the
old
official website, there is mentioned that 101 is after former elite military
unit (Unit 101), in which the owner and founder of the oasis was on duty,
but this fact is refused in Hebrew Wikipedia and other sources.

soukromá zoo při dálnici č. 90 - u Jordánské hranice mezi
Eilatem a Mrtvým mořem (cca 10 km od mošavu Paran). Svým způsobem jde o typickou "road
side zoo" - zoo nikde, přesněji řečeno na důležité trase, ale zcela mimo
město - zoo, která je (spolu s dalšími aktivitami) součástí zastávkové
kavárny. Původně zde bylo mnoho zvířat, významný byl především park
plazů s největšími atrakcemi - dvouhlavou želvou a dvouhlavým hadem.
Avšak 26. února 2007 většina 101 Desert Oasis vyhořela - epicentrum
požáru bylo právě v zoo. Ta byla sice
později obnovena, ale (zřejmě) už ne v takové míře jako původní. Park plazů byl údajně největší na Blízkém východě (okolo 40 druhů hadů,
mnoho ještěrek, želv, krokodýli, aligátoři, mloci, pavouci...), dále zde
byli tygři, pouštní kočky, nosáli, fretky, opice, velbloudi, koně, osli,
muly, poníci, kozy, ovce, divočáci, pštrosi, papoušci, zoborožci, pávy, husy, kachny, slepice,
ryby (piraně atd.)... Dnes více méně dětská zoo s domácími a místními
zvířaty (včetně např. velbloudů, papoušků, hadů, želv...).

significant route, but totally outside the city - the zoo, which is

were many animals, especially reptile park was very important with
largest attractions - two-headed turtle and two-headed snake. However at
the 26th February 2007, most of the 101 Desert Oasis burned - the
epicenter of the fire was just at the zoo. Although it was later
restored, (apparently) no longer in the same degree as the original. The
Reptile Park was reportedly the largest in the Middle East (about 40
species of snakes, many lizards, turtles, crocodiles, alligators,
salamanders, spiders...), furthermore there were tigers, desert cats,
coatis, fereets, monkeys, camels, horses, donkeys, mules, ponies, goats,
sheep, wild boars, ostriches, parrots, hornbills, peacocks, geese,
ducks, chickens, fish (piranhas etc.)... Todey more or less children's
zoo with domestic and local animals (including for example camels,
parrots, snakes, tortoises...). |
