Bolšerečenská zoo vznikla ze zájmového chovu na střední škole
č.2 - v roce 1982 studenti chovali ježky, morčata, želvy apod.
Brzy školní živý koutek dostal srnce, husu, lišku, pak osly,
poníky, velbloudy... Již v červenci 1983 byla tedy zřízena
Školní Zoo. Na podzim 1984 byla zoo domovem pro 40 druhů šelem,
kopytníků a ptáků. V tomto období byla zoo přejmenována na Zoo
Domu pionýrů. Brzy však místo přestalo stačit a tak byla zoo
přestěhována (na konci 1986) na nové (současné) větší místo u
soutoku říčky Bolšaja s Irtyšem. Nová Zoo získala status krajské
zoo a v roce 1987 státní zoo. Nyní chová okolo 200 druhů zvířat,
je zaměřená především na faunu Sibiře a Dálného východu, ale
chová i exotická zvířata. Šelmy (tygři, lvi, levharti, pumy,
medvědi hnědí, lední, himalajští a baribalové, vlci, polární
lišky...), opice (paviáni, makaci, kočkodani...), hroši, koně
Převalského, jeleni, sobi, velbloudi, lamy, zubři, bizoni,
zebry, divočáci, klokani, emu, dravci, vodní ptáci, pelikáni,
jeřábi, papoušci, akvárium-terárium (krokodýli, hadi, želvy,
ještěrky, žáby, ryby)
Bolšerečenská zoo provozuje od roku 2000 každoročně (od
května do září) sezónní Zoovýstavku v Omském parku Třicetiletí
VLKSM (která sezónně funguje jako filiálka zoo).
Bolsherechye zoo originates from hobby breeding in secondary
school no.2 - in 1982, students bred hedgehogs, guinea pigs,
turtles etc. The School Living Corner soon got roe deer, goose,
fox, then donkeys, ponies, camels... Thus already in July 1983,
the School Zoo was established. In the autumn of 1984, the zoo
was a home for 40 species of carnivores, ungulates and birds. In
this time, the zoo was renamed to Zoo of House of pioneers.
However, the space soon ceased to be enough, so the zoo was
moved (in end of 1986) to the new (current) larger location at
the confluence of the Bolshaya and Irtysh rivers. New Zoo gained
the status of Regional zoo and in 1987 the State zoo. Now it
breeds around 200 species of animals, is focused on the fauna of
Siberia and the Far East, but breeds also exotic animals.
Carnivores (tigers, lions, leopards, cougars, brown ,polar,
Asian black and American black bears, wolves, arctic foxes...),
monkeys (baboons, macaques, vervet monkeys ...), hippos,
Przewalski horses, deer, reindeer, camels , llamas, wisents,
bisons, zebras, wild boars, wallabies, emus, raptors, waterfowl,
pelicans, cranes, parrots, aquarium-terrarium (crocodiles,
snakes, turtles, lizards, frogs, fish).
Since 2000, Bolsherechye Zoo operates annually (from May to
September) a Zoo-exhibitim in Omsk park of 30th anniversary of
VLKSM (which seasonally works as a branch of the zoo).
