jediná klasická zoo Maskarén a jediná zoo na Afrických
ostrovech, kde je možné vidět více exotických - neafrických
zvířat. Po roce 2000 prošla celkovou
třífázovou rekonstrukcí, přesto byal (v souvislosti s
útěkem tygra v roce 2005) v lednu 2006 uzavřena veřejnosti. V
roce 2007 měla být znovuotevřena, ale nestalo se tak. Poté bylo
plánováno zrušit chov divokých zvířat a ponechat pouze
domácí zvířata a faunu Maskarén, později již jen domácí zvířata,
coby pedagogická farma. Farma měla být otevřena v roce 2009 - v
té době již byla většina zvířat odvezena do Německa, Nizozemska
atd., ale stále zde ještě zbývalo několik desítek divokých
zvířat (včetně tygra, lemurů, želv obrovských, hadů...).
Poslední zvířata opustila zoo někdy na přelomu 2010 a 2011 (tygr
byl údajně ze zdravotních důvodů utracen). Novou pedagogickou
farmu bude sotva možné zařadit mezi zoo... (zřejmě stále
neexistuje a možná ještě nezačala ani přestavba - 2013).
Tygři, lvi, klokani, jeleni, antilopy, zebry, šimpanzi,
paviáni, makaci, lemuři a další primáti, ptáci (emu, vrubozobí, jeřábi, papoušci atd.),
želvy, krokodýli, leguáni, chameleoni...

three-phase reconstruction, nevertheless (in
connection with the escape of tiger in 2005) it was closed to
the public in January 2006. In 2007, it should be reopened, but
it did not happen. Then it was planned to cancel the breeding of
wild animals and keep only domestic animals and fauna of Mascarenes,
later only domestic animals - as a pedagogical farm. The Farm
should be opened in 2009 - in that time, most of animals was
already transported to Germany, Netherlands etc., but several
tens wild animals still remained here (including tiger, lemurs,
giant tortoises, snakes...). Last animals left the zoo sometime
at the turn of 2010 and 2011 (the tiger was reportedly put down
for health reasons). The new pedagogical farm will hardly be
possible to list as zoo ... (probably still doesn't exist and
maybe nor the rebuilding didn't begin - 2013).
Tigers, lions, kangaroos, deer, antelope, zebras, chimpanzees,
baboons, macaques, lemurs and other primates, birds (emus, waterfowl, cranes, parrots,
etc.), turtles, crocodiles, iguanas, chameleons...
